[Pre-Alpha1] Menu & Planning
Menu
After finishing your character creation, you may also notice a set of buttons on the lower left side of the screen. They are the game’s menu and contain several useful functions.
The ‘Biography’ button leads you to a submenu where you can view general details about your character, such as appearance, schedule, mental, employment, and memory. (more on this later.)
‘Stats’ leads you to a submenu where you can view your attributes, skills (sorted by category), along with sex attributes and history.
‘Relationships’ is where you can view your acquaintances. Your relationship status and value, your lust and love towards each other, along with what you’ve learned about them so far, such as personality traits and interests.
‘Inventory’ is where you can view your items, sorted by category.
‘Options’ is where you can save, load, go back to the title screen, quit the game, and debug. You can only save during planning. You can view details about characters and areas in debug.
Click ‘Return’ to exit any of the submenus and resume the game.
Memory
As you progress through your life, you commit to your memory the major and minor events that occur. From your exercise on Monday to the sex you have on Sunday. NPCs also remember their experiences as they live their life, not just you.
For now, these memories only serve as debugging tools. They are stored as simple strings, they don’t affect gameplay in any way, and neither you nor NPCs mention them during the game. However, this is one of the major things that I plan to expand and develop in the future, as it could make the world(s) and those that inhabit it feel much more alive.
Week planning
After finishing your character creation, you’ll end up at the week planning screen. It is the main gameplay loop of the game. Here you can set your schedules, manage outfits, invite someone to hang out, go shopping, and quit your job.
Schedule
Decide what activities to do from Monday to Sunday. Select activity, location, outfit, and others. Setting a daytime schedule is mandatory to proceed, but setting an evening schedule is optional.
When planning your schedule, be mindful to balance your stamina, mood, lust, and money. Relax during the daytime to recover your stamina, and do nothing during the evenings to conserve it. Improve your mood by doing activities that you’re interested in, or going out drinking during the evenings. Relieve your lust by having sex or masturbating. And earn money by working.
Some activities can improve your attributes and skills. These stats will decay over time unless you improve them routinely. Therefore, you should only select a few attributes/skills to focus on, rather than trying to be good at everything.
Some activities have their clothing requirements, such as requiring you to wear work clothes when working. Some jobs may also have additional requirements, such as having to equip armor and weapons when working as guards, for example. If your outfit sets don’t meet the requirements, you will not be able to select them for that activity. (They won’t appear as options at all.)
Also a very important detail, there are only 7 days in a month in this game. Meaning after the Sunday of January, you’ll end up on the Monday of February, rather than the second week of January. This is designed to make time pass faster and not feel too long for players.
Outfit management
Create new outfits sets and edit existing ones, by setting an article of clothing to each slot. You can wear these outfit sets during activities. To be able to use an outfit, the following slots must not be empty: upper, lower, under lower, under upper (if your chest cup is A or higher)
Also, if you edit an outfit that has already been assigned to be worn in an activity, that outfit set will be resigned from that activity and you have to set it again. Therefore, you should manage your outfit sets to your satisfaction first before assigning them to activities.
Hangout
You can invite people you know to hang out with you during the evening. Whether they will accept depends on your relationship and your lust or love for each other. They can also be the ones to invite you as well. You can only invite, or accept an invitation, up to 3 times per month.
After the invitation is accepted, you will choose an evening to hang out with them. Once the date is set, you cannot cancel or change that evening’s schedule and bail on them. (That would be rude.)
Job
You need money to survive, and the most basic way to do that is by getting a job. You can do so by choosing the ‘find a job’ activity during the daytime, then choosing the location where you’d like to get a job. Don’t forget to set a work outfit, otherwise, you won’t be able to do the activity. (Upper and lower clothing slots must be of ‘work’ type.)
You can only hold 1 job at a time. Therefore, you shouldn’t try to ‘find a job’ multiple times a month, since you’d automatically quit the one you already have if you get another one, and you can’t cancel activities outside of the planning phase.
Each job has attributes and/or skill requirements that you can see when you hover over it. Keeping them at high enough values will increase your chance of getting the job. Additionally, your interests and personality traits can have an impact as well.
Once you get the job, you will be informed of your workdays, and some jobs will give you starting equipment if you have no experience. Your work will start next week by selecting the ‘work’ activity. Each job can have its own outfit requirements, so be sure to check those out.
Once you continue working, you will develop ‘progress’ based on your performance. With sufficient progress, you will be promoted to the next rank. (Each job has a different maximum rank.) Your pay will increase based on your rank.
Be warned, however, if your progress drops too low, such as by skipping work too many times, you can get fired.
There are currently 7 jobs available for you: guard, attendant, worker, farmer, cleaner, cook, and librarian. There are more jobs in this version, but they are only available for NPCs. These are archer, mage, merchant, cleric, adventurer, and dancer.
